Cengiz Yolcu is currently a PhD candidate at the History Department at İstanbul 29 Mayıs University. Yolcu was born in Dobriç (Hacıoğlu Pazarcık), Bulgaria in 1986. He graduated from İstanbul Atatürk Lisesi in 2005; he graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences in 2009. He obtained an M. A. in History from Boğaziçi University in 2014. His work focuses on history of the Balkans, late Ottoman history and the Bulgarian Question in the Ottoman Empire.
