Pınar Dandiboz was born and raised in İstanbul. Being awarded a full scholarship, she earned her B.A. from Doğuş University, Department of English Language and Literature. After her graduation, she completed English Language Teaching Pedagogical Formation Program at Marmara University. Being awarded a partial scholarship, she earned her M.A. in Cultural Studies from İstanbul Şehir University. She received her master’s degree in 2014 with the thesis titled "The Construction of the Female Citizen Through Republican Etiquette Books: Turkey, 1930-1943" which is the basis of this book.
