Elif Sezer was born in 1989, Fatih, İstanbul. She graduated from Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Boğaziçi University in 2012. She received her MA degree from İstanbul Şehir University, Department of Cultural Studies in 2014 with her thesis entitled “The Interface Between the Oral and the Written in Ottoman Literature: The Reader Notes on the Manuscript of the Story of Fîrûzşâh.” Her research interests include the history of Ottoman/Turkish music, literature, history of reading, book culture and everyday life in early-modern Ottoman culture. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies as a teaching assistant in History Department of İstanbul Şehir University.
