Zeynep Küçükceran was born in 1985 in Istanbul. She completed her high school education in Kartal Anadolu High School. She received her B.A. degree from History Department at Boğaziçi University in 2009. Immediately after her graduation she started her masters at the same department again at Boğaziçi University. She received his M.A. degree in 2012 with the thesis titled "Agrarian Economy and Primary Education in the Salonican Countryside in The Hamidian Period (1876-1908)" which is the basis of this book. Zeynep Küçükceran continues her Ph. D. education in History Department at Boğaziçi University since 2013. Her research interest focuses on Ottoman social and economic history, particularly history of agriculture and of education.
