Sena Hatip Dinçyürek was born in Kütahya, Turkey, in 1983. She has lived most of her life in Istanbul and completed her B.A. in 2006 at the International Relations Department of Istanbul Bilgi University. She received her M.A. from Bilkent University's History Department in 2010 and is continuing there with her PhD studies. Her main research interests are: the Era of Abdulhamid II, the Ottoman Balkans and Anglo-Ottoman Relations in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
