Ayşe Zeren Enis was born in 1986, İstanbul. She earned her BA degree in Global and International Affairs from Boğaziçi University and State University of New York, Binghamton University, specializing in Turkish politics and politics of European Union. She earned her MA degree from Boğaziçi University, Institute for Graduate Studies in the Social Sciences, History Department with her thesis entitled, “Everyday Lives of Ottoman Muslim Women: Hanımlara Mahsûs Gazete (Newspaper for Ladies) (1895-1908).” During her graduate studies, she went to École Normale Supérieure in Paris with an Erasmus scholarship. In addition to her mother tongue, Turkish, she speaks English and French and she is able to read Ottoman-Turkish. She is still learning German and Persian, and continuing to work on her Ph.D research in Ottoman women magazines, and feminist historiography
