Berke Torunoğlu received his B.A. in International Relations in 2006, and earned his M.A. in History in 2009 from Bilkent University. He is now pursuing his doctoral studies in the Department of History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and expects to graduate in 2014. His research interests include the history of Islamic societies and the Middle East, the social, political and economic history of the late Ottoman Empire and early Republican Turkey, and Russian-Ottoman relations.
